Writing Assignment: “The Moustache,” “The Treasure of Lemon Brown,” and “The Inspiration of Mr. Budd”

Mike in “The Moustache,” Greg in “The Treasure of Lemon Brown,” and Mr. Budd in “The Inspiration of Mr. Budd” all had quite a “story” to tell at the end of their respective short story.

Mike’s mother asked him about the visit with his grandmother, but he revealed very little to her. Greg will keep his visit with Lemon Brown to himself rather than share it with his father. And, lastly, Mr. Budd’s brother is in Australia and won’t know immediately of his brother’s change in business.

You are to assume the persona of one of these three characters: Mike, Greg, or Mr. Budd. Write a letter to your family member in which you reply to this two part question: “What have your experienced today and what have you learned from it?”
