PHOTO NARRATIVE

You are going to create a photo narrative. What is a photo narrative? Well, let’s look at the two words. Photo is short for photograph, and a narrative is a piece of writing that tells a story. So . . .

We are going to combine the two meanings to create a story using pictures. Your assignment comes to you in easy-to-follow steps.

#1: Think back to a time when something happened to you in steps. For example, first something happened, second something else happened, third something else happened, and you get the "picture." This can be from a long time ago, or it may be a recent experience.

#2: Find a series of photos to represent this event. (Ok, if you don’t have photos for that event, back up to number one and think of a new event.)

#3: Bring the photographs to class on .

#4: Arrange these photos in chronological order. You can do this on construction paper, or you may you posterboard if you supply it.

When you are finished arranging the photos and gluing the photos, you will have a visual story. Be prepared to share your story.

You will be graded according to the following scale:

Photos are arranged in chronological order 0 4 8

Photos clearly represent a certain event 0 4 8
